. On-Site Coolant Recycling Program
Back

American Iron’s coolant recycling programs are designed to significantly reduce costs for manufacturers of machined scrap by applying more efficient methods of on-site coolant recovery and reuse. These are the key elements:

In-Plant Containers

American Iron can provide specialized containers in a variety of types and sizes to hold loose turnings, shavings and other oil-containing chips. The residual cutting fluids, which drain by gravity into the bottom of the container, are recovered by means of a side tap and returned to machine use.

Compactors

American Iron can provide compactors that reduce the volume of machined scrap, and extract used coolant at the same time. As the material is compressed, fluids are squeezed out and collect in a false bottom for recovery and reuse. As an additional benefit, the compacted materials are completely enclosed in a metal box for spillage-free transportation.

Capital Equipment

Specialty equipment, such as chip spinners, puckmakers, and reverse-osmosis filters, are further refinements of the recycling process. These types of machines represent the most efficient methods for coolant recovery; however, they are also non-production, capital expense items. American Iron’s SCRAPITAL™ capital equipment purchase program allows companies to make such equipment upgrades without tapping into their capital budgets.
