Dangerous Scrap
American Iron protects itself and its customers by exercising strict control of the materials it handles. The following are examples of dangerous scrap that can explode or spew oil if heated or compressed. American Iron will not accept these materials unless cut in half and free from all liquids, gasses and unknown non-metallic substances.
ANY of the following found in trucks or scrap containers that are not cut in half or free of non metallic substances can lead to complete rejection of the entire load.
ANY of the following found in trucks or scrap containers after delivery will be assessed a $100 per item surcharge and possible rejection of further loads.
- Propane/Gas Cylinders
- Aerosol Containers
- Torque Coverters, Hydraulic Cylinders, Shock Absorbers

- Hydraulic Jacks, Refrigerator Compressors

- Sealed and Air Tight Rolls-Pipe-Drivelines
- CO2 Bottles, Fire Extinguishers

- Ammunition
