Hammermill Metal Shredder
Irregularly-sized metal scrap is fed at a controlled rate into the mill chamber via the infeed conveyor.
As the material passes over a hardened steel anvil, it is "shredded" by the action of the spinning hammers.
The chips bounce around within the chamber until they are small enough to fall through the sizing holes of the discharge grid.
Because shredded scrap is uniformly sized and much denser, it is more efficient to handle and transport, and requires less energy to re-melt in foundry furnaces.
